Thinking of summer; another capture of a little hummingbird visiting our canna lilies.
Hummingbird
This little hummingbird came to visit back in September, and nicely hung around for some pictures.

Pelican

Lonesome George
This is the Galapagos turtle called Lonesome George–over 100 years old, and as far as anyone knew, the oldest turtle there! I took this picture on a trip there in 2010; a couple years ago, it was reported that he had died.
Kitty
This is our cat, creatively named Kitty. She’s good at playing ‘photo shoot,’ though sometimes she tries to pounce on the camera.
Blue-footed Booby
This is one of my favorite pictures from traveling to Ecuador and the Galapagos a few years ago. The blue-footed boobies would walk right up to you (animals there don’t have a lot of natural predators, as the islands are so isolated, so they’re not scared of much). They would stand there, and show you their feet. So cute!
Buffalo
This was courtesy of my nice zoom lens, from a trip out to Yellowstone a couple years ago. Though, the buffalo would at times come pretty close to the road, so you didn’t necessarily need to zoom in to get a good picture of them.
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
I don’t take tons of pictures of birds, though we do have some pretty ones that come to the feeders. When I take the time to use my nice zoom lens, sometimes I can grab some good shots of them.
