The tunnels under Buda Castle in Budapest were historically used as a prison and torture chamber, with Vlad the Impaler famously held prisoner there. Now, some of the areas display figures wearing costumes from the Budapest Opera and opera music is piped through speakers, for reasons that aren’t really clearly explained.
