Summer Yoga
Lightning Bolt
I took the photo below out the car window as we were driving through Montana, trying to stay ahead of this storm, and just happened to catch the lightning bolt. I plan to spend some time trying to get some good storm pictures this summer; soon thunderstorm season will be here!
Scottish Fields
Last week I posted a picture of a canola field from northern Minnesota; below is a picture of one in Scotland (and a picturesque stone wall.)
More Sunflowers
I just can’t get over how beautiful and odd a whole field of sunflowers was, and how fun to photograph. I’ve seen some while driving through South Dakota, too–so wonderful!
Lake of the Woods
Lake of the Woods is an impressive sight, just water, stretching off into the distance. It feels like you’re at the top of the world (and technically, the top of Minnesota!)
Prairie in Black and White
I don’t often play with black and white much, and I should do more of it; I like how it makes this prairie scene more serious, and really makes the clouds pop. This is also from far northern Minnesota, at one of the state parks near Roseau.
Sunflowers
There was a sunflower field right outside of Roseau, almost at full peak when we were there last August. I took numerous pictures, at all times of day. This day was cloudy, so it looks like the flowers are just floating in white space.

Canola Field
Also seen in far northern Minnesota, a canola field. I saw these all over southern England a couple years ago, and they are beautiful when blooming! I love the weight of the clouds; the flat horizon in northern MN makes the clouds seems so much bigger.
Lake Bronson State Park
These were taken on a trip to Roseau, in far northern MN, in August of 2013. This is Lake Bronson State Park, with a beautiful swimming and boating lake.
