Rain on the North Shore.
Canola Field
Also seen in far northern Minnesota, a canola field. I saw these all over southern England a couple years ago, and they are beautiful when blooming! I love the weight of the clouds; the flat horizon in northern MN makes the clouds seems so much bigger.
Lake Bronson State Park
These were taken on a trip to Roseau, in far northern MN, in August of 2013. This is Lake Bronson State Park, with a beautiful swimming and boating lake.
April Snow…
These were taken after an April blizzard in 2013, and now we’ve had another one this year. I really hope this isn’t becoming a trend.

Crocus
No, these pictures aren’t from this year–I just checked and no sign of crocus or tulips coming up yet. I took these in mid-April, in 2011…so hopefully that means we’re just a couple weeks away!
Summer
With a recent high temperature into the 60s, Minnesota has already gotten a brief taste of summer…at least until the next weather forecast. Looking at these pictures of summer flowers, it still seems a long ways off…
Mountain Iris
This is an iris growing in the Big Horn mountains, in Wyoming. When we were there in early August, it was nearing the end of wildflower season, but there were still some to be found.
Minneopa Falls
These are the ‘small’ falls at Minneopa State Park; I was playing with slow shutter speed right after I got my camera, just trying to hold it steady by balancing on the guard rail. I just wish there wasn’t that branch hanging down on the right side of the picture…every time I see this, it just keeps bugging me.
